Richard began exploring photography in his teens. He was
initially intrigued by the technical aspects of the medium. As he refined his technique, early mentors, recognizing his mastery of technique at such a young age, encouraged him to explore beyond the boundaries of
pure technical considerations, exposures and lighting. This idea and shift in focus allowed Richard to create images that allow both himself, and his viewers, to see the world in new ways. While he never abandoned
his technical precision, it is truly his natural ability to see mundane things in new ways that makes his art unique. On a journey of over many years, he continues to push the boundaries of composition and to
explore new technology. To those early mentors, and those who have influenced his work, he expresses his deepest gratitude.
He has crafted a style that melds technical precision with
compelling composition.
Richard was honored by Nikon Corporation who selected his image, Twilight for the internationally distributed 2007 Nikon Photo Contest International (NPCI)
calendar. The calendar was comprised of 13 photographs selected from the annual Nikon Contest which received 31,000 entries from 117 countries/regions. Twilight is featured in the month of November.
Photography is Richard’s passion. He currently focuses on fine
art limited edition pieces and gallery exhibition. He has sold many images to collectors.
